Digital Storytelling

Digital Storytelling!

Hello there! This week we attempted digital storytelling! What is digital storytelling you might ask, it is a short form of digital media production that allows everyday people to share aspects of their story (retrieved from wikipedia.com ). So, me and my friend Melissa decided to make a storytelling video.

First step we took was to come up with a story to tell. It really pushed our imagination to it's limits. After deciding, we did some research on (spoiler alert) dinosaurs. Since Melissa came up with the idea, she wrote the script, and I planned our video. After planning, we recorded our voices and retrieved our visuals from pixton.com . At this step, I was a little confused because I needed to edit a video, which I have never done before. A few trials later, I finished the video!!  Now is the time to get your feedback. Please check our video below and tell us what you think.

Hello everyone ! It is so good to be back here with you. After struggling to find motivation to write here, I was blessed to work with one of my favorite teachers again!!! She's the little push I needed to come back so let's thank her for that :D  After a full year of coronavirus, everything seemed to be going wrong in every way. I had no motivation, I was, still am, terrified for my life, I was tired etc. After contemplating my life style, I decided to change it up a bit to accommodate this new era. I started focusing more on natural life rather than the life we created with money. I can say it's going great so far.  I'm really excited to come back here! I hope all is going well with you too. Hope to see you soon :) Wear a mask, save lives :)

FLIPPED CLASSROOM APPROACH

Hi guys! This week, we studied on flipped classroom approach. To be honest, I didn't know this was a thing! If I explain it very simply, I can say it's like online teaching, but definitely better. You get to create a video of your lesson, then share it with the class so that they can learn at their own pace. There's no time limitations whatsoever. I think it's a pretty fun process for the teacher and the student, if they are good with online tools :)  We got to make a flipped lesson with Görkem and we'd like to share the steps we took with you! Also, you are welcomed to check our lesson down below :) As the first step ,  we chose our focus, which ended up being vocabulary. After doing some research on the vocabulary group, we got to work. We chose to work with fifth graders and picked unit two called my town. After that, we created a slide on Canva . Did you know it enables you to embed sounds into the slide? We did just that :) After thoroughly preparing our slid...

Augmented Reality

Hi everyone! I hope everyone's been happy and healty! This week, we studied with augmented reality. We were instructed to create a lesson plan using it. To be honest, it was very difficult for me. I'm not the best with technology, so Görkem was very supportive with it :) Me and Görkem wanted to focus on traveling, so we decided to visit Berlin, Germany. First, we collected our materials. At first, we wanted to include 3d materials but every single application we tried unfortunately failed. As the next idea, we chose to use QR codes to integrate our materials. so we looked for videos, especially 360 videos. We wanted to give our students handouts for easy management. It was the easier option but it was not very satisfactory :(  Please have a look at our worksheets down below. You can scan the qr codes to travel through Berlin :) We'll see you next week!
